The 2006 GB Games was enjoyed by thousands of people throughout the day. We had dozens of volunteers help with making this day a success. The K of C opened early and made their bathrooms available for all. The Cort Club allowed us to use all the ice in their machine to start the day off. Mike and Gerard's Deli ran the food court and ordered all the supplies needed for the food court. The Squires from the K of C ran the Carnie Games with Jim Giorgio. The GB Marching Band marched for us. Nicole D'Agosta & Friends made all of the great signs and then helped with face painting. Jane DeWitt, Janet Behrens, Maryjean Kralick, helped with the sale of tickets and 50/50's. The RCSOMP lent us the BBQ's and a cooler for the food court. The AUX- Police (Chris Mullen) helped with Traffic all day. The Park Department lent us the metal barricades and stopped by to pick up the garbage. The Brooklyn Children's Museum was there with 2 snakes, Coney Island Hospital outreach did blood pressure checks, Fire Department educational was on hand to answer questions and gave away items. The Fire Truck with sprinkler thanks to Mike Bianco. The Car Show organized by Tri-Five Auto Club's John Douglas was another big success. We had a few people that were there when needed: Dave Stevens, Ed Rassmusen, Robert Kralick, Anthony D'Agosta, Tom Mc Cormick, Lillybeth Hanson, Anna Ferrara-Taylor, and Dan Foster all of them helped out in a big way. But, a few that did not stop all day were: Dan Durocher, Joe DeSimone, Buddy DeWitt, Ray Schaefer. I most likely missed someone... If you know someone that helped please thank them on behalf of GB Cares. If they are mentioned above and not on our Board please thank them when you can. In the end we spent about $800 more then we took in to organize this event. Some of the cost above will be submitted for reimbursement from the NYC Council grant from Lewis Fidler. I expect about $2,000 will be reimbursed to us in the future. Thanks to all the helped make the GB Games a success!!!! All the best, Michael Taylor |
